Tuxford Windmill :: Shared Description

The four sailed mill was originally built in 1810 and remained in use until badly damaged in 1920. It was restored between 1982 and 1995 by the Ostick Family. There are two pairs of stones(one Peak and the other French Burr). A steam grasshopper engine was installed in the 1850s but little remains of the engine house.
The mill and adjacent tea room are open all year except Tuesdays.
