Images of yachts moored in the 'Long Hole' LinkExternal link was a popular scene for numerous postcards of Bangor - see some examples at LinkExternal link . Sadly, with the building of the marina nearby and the gradual state of disrepair at the small harbour, it is now extremely rare to see yachts here.
The Long Hole

Also known as the 'Big Hole', this small harbour in Bangor, now silted up and disused, was created when stone was quarried out in the 19th Century.
