Scaffolding on Wisbech and Fenland Museum
Scaffolding on Wisbech and Fenland Museum
Work has started on one of the first purpose-built museums in England. Work includes long-term repairs costing 684,000 to its leaking roof. The Wisbech and Fenland Museum houses anti-slavery campaigner Thomas Clarkson's "campaign chest" and the original Charles Dickens manuscript of
Great Expectations.
It is also home to a small collection of artefacts relating to the food canning industry in the town donated by the photographer.
