The notice reads:-

The trees over this path are infected with 'Chalara' ash dieback. Please follow the diversion.

Ash dieback is a serious disease of ash trees caused by the fungus Hymenoscyphus fraxineus. The disease causes leaf loss and crown dieback in affected trees and can lead to the death of the tree.

Essential health and safety work has been taking place to remove dangerous trees close to paths. Please stay on paths and do not enter the wood.
