Restored timber-framed building
Restored timber-framed building
Restoration work on No.31 High Street. The building dates back to 1420. Part of the information on the front of the building reads: 'The principal range is a 3-bay timber frame solar wing which relates to the adjoining open hall dated to 1340, the second earliest recorded secular structure in the country'. The building had been placed on the Historic England 'At Risk' register. Pity I didn't photograph it before as the timber structure was hidden behind a brick facade. The building is Grade II* Listed, see: LinkExternal link
