Brass of an unknown doctor in Little St Mary's Church
Brass of an unknown doctor in Little St Mary's Church
One of two medieval monumental brasses in the church, both sadly incomplete, this three-quarter figure of a Doctor in cap and gown has been dated to around 1500. The identity of the subject is unknown, but he was probably a Fellow of Peterhouse; the adjacent college used the chancel of Little St Mary's as its collegiate chapel until the present chapel was built in the 17th century.
