Sumatran tigress
Sumatran tigress
Kelabu and her mother Ratna came to Shepreth Wildlife Park from Chessington to replace the much-loved Bengal tigers Rana and Amba who had sadly died.

The Sumatran tiger (classified as Panthera tigris sondaicus or P.t. sumatrae) is one of the smallest subspecies of tigers remaining in the wild, and is found on the Indonesian island of Sumatra and on the Sunda islands in the Malaya archipelago.

For the previous tigers see TL3948 : Rana the Bengal tiger and TL3948 : Amba the Bengal tigress.
