Looking west in All Saints' Church
Looking west in All Saints' Church
Only the west tower survives from the medieval church built of field stones and completed around the turn of the 14th century in Perpendicular style. After centuries of neglect, the chancel collapsed in 1753 and the nave followed in 1785. For the next eighty years services were held in a nearby barn, until the church was rebuilt in the mid-1860s during the long and unhappy incumbency of the bogus vicar David Craig (who was not in Holy Orders, cavorted half-naked in the village by night and was eventually committed to an asylum). The architect was William Milner Fawcett, a lover of the 13th-century Gothic style and an enthusiast for colourful stencilling and polychrome brickwork. as can be seen here and at his other churches such as that at Longstowe in TL3155.

The medieval bells were lost in the reign of Edward VI, and the single replacement was cast in St Neots in the 19th century. Mesdames Longair and Abraham, authors of the church guide published in 2013, point out the strange contrast of "the great arch at the west end of the nave ... tall and very pointed in striking contrast to the shape of the old Perpendicular tower window beyond.
