Old mill at Elsworth
Old mill at Elsworth
Near the crossroads east of the village, leading to Boxworth, Knapwell and Conington, this former capless tower mill stands among the trees. Variously known as East Mill, Papworth's Mill (from the family who operated it) or the Black Mill, it is dated 1854 and replaced a wooden smock mill from the early 19th century which burned down in February that year. Around 1935 it was converted into a family home.
