Remains of railway bridge abutment
Remains of railway bridge abutment
The last remains of the bridge which once carried the line between Grange Court Junction and Hereford over this minor road in Weston under Penyard, near Ross on Wye. To the left of the shot was once Weston Halt, on a now-demolished embankment and accessed by steps from the road. The house visible in the background was built partly with stone salvaged from the abutments of the bridge and is appropriately known as "The Beechings". A picture of the bridge in railway days can be found at LinkExternal link
