SH3847 : Shore below Brynhudfa

taken 2 years ago, near to Trefor, Gwynedd, Great Britain

Shore below Brynhudfa
Shore below Brynhudfa
A beautiful shore with a backdrop of hills, but subject to an insidious threat from landslides. The litter of erratic blocks suggests that there is active erosion in progress, and tongues of dark-grey clay can be seen advancing in the mid distance. The instability of parts of this coast where there are thick deposits of glacial till is well-known. See also SH3847 : Landslip scarps for another view of this landslipped area.
