The summit of Meikle White Hill
The summit of Meikle White Hill
The summit is in the foreground. The forested area ahead is the one that the map shows centred on NS45257886.

The edge of the Fintry Hills is at the far left. Just to the right of that is the edge of the nearer Campsie Hills, with the hill Knockupple in front: NS4579 : Summit area of Knockupple.

The plateau of the Campsie Hills continues to just beyond the centre of the skyline, falling away sharply at NS6379 and nearby: NS6379 : The Campsies Escarpment.

After a short dip there, the ground rises again at Saughen Braes (NS4678); Duncolm (NS4777) is at the far right.
Meikle and Little White Hill

Meikle White Hill and the adjacent Little White Hill are shown collectively as the "Whyit Hills" on the early Pont/Blaeu map of the Lennox; the surveying work for that map was carried out in the 1580s-90s.
