The Two Waters Way east of Stafford
The Two Waters Way east of Stafford
This is about a mile east of Stafford town centre. The new black painted 񊸶M 400 metre bridge across the flood plain of the Penk and Sow rivers is the Two Waters Way and allows pedestrians and cyclists a direct route between Baswich and Kingston Hill housing estates.

In this image, at the centre, the bridge crosses the River Penk, and about fifty metres further along, it crosses the River Sow.

Note: The bridge was opened in March 2015, but so far (June 2020) it does not appear on many maps.

The Rivers Penk and Sow have their re-routed (since the 1970s) confluence about a hundred metres east of the bridge (off to the right). Cattle graze freely across the flood plain except during the winter, or when flood alerts are in place. LinkExternal link
