Statue of Hebe
Statue of Hebe
Statue of Hebe the Greek goddess of youth. The statue is by Robert Thomas and modelled on a young London dancer named Katterina Williams. It was originally on Holloway Circus where it was unveiled by the Lady Mayoress on 23 April 1968. The statue was stolen from that site in July 2000 and subsequently recovered from a house in Selly Oak in September 2001 and later placed here at the end of Corporation Street. Since photographed in 2010 the bowl below the statue appears to have disappeared SP0787 : Goddess reaching for a cool can.
