SH8579 : Victoria Pier, Colwyn Bay

taken 5 years ago, near to Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Great Britain

Victoria Pier, Colwyn Bay
Victoria Pier, Colwyn Bay
A view from the promenade, showing the main pavilion (built 1934). The decking and bandstand in front have been demolished, and the pavilion itself will eventually follow. If all goes to plan, then the council will re-open the pier as a "truncated pier", which will extend to the end of the 1970s amusement building (seen to the left).
This new pier will be approximately 30 metres long, making it (disputedly) the UK's shortest pier.
