The view is from a path that is part of a route called the Shore Circular Path. The part of the shore shown here is in a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and in a Special Protection Area (SPA).

On the far shore of the Clyde, the clump of trees with telecoms masts in it is centred on NS37577227; the cluster of buildings in front of it is Undercraig (which is also in NS3772). The built-up area on the shore below them is Langbank.
