Goswick station (remains), 2002
View NW at the level-crossing, towards Berwick and Edinburgh on the ex-NER Newcastle - Berwick section of the ECML. The station was closed during and shortly after WW2 (5/10/41 - 7/10/46), finally 15/9/58 (10/8/64 to goods). It was near the coast, so was one of the places where trains were shot up by the Luftwaffe; also it was the site of a serious accident in 1947.
