Dismantled railway bridge near Rachan Home Farm
The 13 km long Talla railway was built in 1897 to service the construction of the Talla Reservoir. The Reservoir was completed in 1905 and the railway was closed soon afterwards.

Here it is seen close to where it joined the Symington, Biggar and Broughton Railway at Rachan Junction. The eastern abutment is still in place, but the embankment to the west has been almost completely removed.
