21st century footbridge, Newport railway station
21st century footbridge, Newport railway station
The distinctive shape of the railway station footbridge is viewed from Godfrey Road. The footbridge was installed as part of a station renovation in 2009-2010. It is clad in ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, the material which protects the Eden Project in Cornwall. The former footbridge remains in place, disused.
