An Adam & Eve Headstone in St Quivox Churchyard
This fine example of a rare Adam & Eve headstone in St Quivox churchyard marks the grave of the McCalla family of Crawford. The burial dates range from 1776 to 1855. Academic sources show that there was an inscription at the top of the stone referring to the Tree of Knowledge: ”In the day thou eatest of it thou shalt surely die”. The stone is located next to the church wall on the south side.
