SO8933 : Excavator buckets

taken 8 years ago, near to The Mythe, Gloucestershire, Great Britain

Excavator buckets
Excavator buckets
Excavator buckets used to remove the former railway viaduct at Tewkesbury. The embankment over the Avon floodplain is being removed, the theory being that it will ease flooding. The embankment used to carry the railway line from Ashchurch to Great Malvern which opened in May 1864 and closed to passengers in August 1961, the stretch between Upton-upon-Severn and Great Malvern closed earlier in December 1952.
