Sheep on Dergoals Moss
Sheep on Dergoals Moss
Light grazing by sheep is important to maintain the plant diversity of the blanket bog and prevent overgrowth of grasses and scrub.
The two drumlins to the left and right of the picture are Derniemore Hill and Birrel Hill respectively, with the distinctive shape of the Merrick rising in the far distance beyond the forestry.
