Former railway embankment
Former railway embankment
Originally this was the embankment of the Godley Junction to Apethorn railway. Since the line was closed and dismantled the route has become part of the Trans Pennine trail. What looks like a small stream at the bottom is in fact the bridlepath section of the trail. Above the embankment is an oak tree SJ9493 : New Year's Day on the Trans Pennine Trail.

Compare with the same view in February 2012: SJ9493 : Former railway embankment.
