Church of St Martin
Church of St Martin
At 35 feet (11 metres) long, the Grade II* listed church ( LinkExternal link ) is the smallest in Wiltshire and reputedly the second smallest in England. Built in the 13th century the simple stone and flint checkerboard built building is still in use for regular services. Following the filming of some scenes for Pride and Prejudice in 2005 part of the location fees were donated to the Parochial Parish Council (PCC) to be used towards the restoration of the church and in 2010 a thorough programme of restoration of the fabric of the church was begun, finishing in 2011.
