Upper mill dam
Upper mill dam
A small dam and sluice was constructed on the Linn Burn. A lade carried water to the Orry cotton mill where the machinery was at one time driven by a 45 feet diameter cast-iron water-wheel equivalent to 50 horsepower. About 740 cubic feet of water per minute fell on the wheel.
