ST6669 : Old Soap Factory, Keynsham by Rick Crowley
The Polysulphin Company first in Brislington and then at Keynsham, manufacturing soap for laundries. The premises constantly flooded and the stock washed away. The firm was sold around 1965. I believe it is now used for building narrowboats.

Here the River Avon leaves grid square ST6669 as it heads downstream, bypassing Keynsham through ST6668 ST6568 and ST6569 before returning for a final flourish. (see page 10)

The wharf used to load coal delivered here by the dramway, onto barges. The bridge goes over the Siston Brook just as it enters the river Avon.
